How to Make It
1. (Optional) Lightly Roast the Herbs:
You can gently dry-roast the herbs in a pan over low heat for 1–2 minutes to remove any residual moisture. Be careful not to scorch them—just a light toasting will do.
2. Infuse the Oils:
Pour the coconut, castor, sesame, and neem oil into a heavy-bottomed pan. Add in all your herbs and seeds.
Turn the heat to very low and let the mixture slowly simmer for 20–30 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent the herbs from sticking or burning. You’ll know it’s ready when the oil darkens and fills your kitchen with a rich herbal aroma.
3. Cool and Strain:
Once you’ve finished simmering, turn off the heat and allow the oil to cool completely. Strain it through a fine mesh or clean muslin cloth into a sterilized glass jar or bottle.
4. Add Essential Oils (Optional):
If you’d like to give your oil an aromatic twist and extra healing properties, add a few drops of your favorite essential oils once the mixture has cooled.
Store the finished oil in a cool, dark spot. It should stay fresh for up to 2–3 months. Be sure to shake well before each use.
